I am very pleased to announce two game projects that I have been working on, one of which will be released before the end of the year.

Stories of the Singularity: Arena

Arena is a stand-alone exploration of the Memory Battle System, a combat system inspired by tabletop RPG rules and classic JRPG mechanics. In Arena, players can build their own party of characters from level 1 to 30, surviving one harrowing combat scenario after another until they escape the Arena.

(Anticipated) Features:

  • 20 Arena floors with dozens of enemy types, each with their own unique attacks, weaknesses and special abilities.
  • Four main classes, complete with multiclassing options.
  • Two specializations for each class, as well Class Expertise and Class Mastery options for single-class builds.
  • Tactical turn-based grid combat.
  • Dozens of weapons, armor, items and resources (like ammo) that can help players turn the tide.

Stories of the Singularity: Survive the Office

Survive the Office is a story-driven role-playing game and a direct sequel to The Singularity Wish. Set in the immediate aftermath of a technological singularity, office worker Morgana Mitty finds herself in a dangerous and unpredictable world. Only her own skills and the help of her coworkers will see her survive long enough to find relative safety – but that depends on them working together.

Survive the Office runs on the Memory Battle System, a class-based RPG ruleset inspired by classic tabletop role-playing games.

Setting:

Synda Tower, one of the largest buildings in the city of MoonFall and home to Syndacorp, a leading robotics and AI development firm. The building includes all the amenities of home, including a large shopping center, various restaurants and cafes, a clinic and overnight suites for upper-tier employees.

(Anticipated) Features:

  • Post-singularity storyline with deep RPG elements.
  • 10 recruitable survivors with their own skills, abilities, and storylines. Take good care of them, if they die, it’s permanent.

Upon release, both of these projects are free to all Kickstarter backers.
